Victoria Jeune Chefs Competitions: Posted May 2nd 2024

Supporting the JC competition requires our Bailliage to share in the event costs.  Our costs will be approximately $2,000,  and at least $1,000  of that will contribute towards  the cost of  over 70 different  fresh food items used during the event by  the 8 candidates  in the competition.

So, I am  respectfully asking our Members to make a  donation towards the JC expenses, in  any amount that fits their budget.

While space at the College is limited, those Members able to make a donation will be invited to come to the College and view the entries to be judged and to be present for the announcement of the winner.   Several of our professional members and other city chefs  have been working hard training the candidates, and the winner will go on to the National competition in Calgary in October.

On the following day, Monday June 10,   the next Chaine event will have a Tropical  Asian Theme and joining us will be the Chefs who mentored the JC candidates, and the winner of the competition.    Our Officier Maître Rotisseur, Daryl Pope,  will be in the kitchen assisting  his friend, Pius Wong.   Allan Tyson will be sending you full details of this event shortly.

If you are able to make a donation towards the JC expenses, please make cheques payable to La Chaine des Rotisseurs, and mail them to the Bailli at 12/4360  Emily Carr Drive Victoria V8X 4Y4.  OR   if by etransfer,  please send to the Bailli at ggabel@shaw.ca.  All donations will be  greatly appreciated and acknowledged.

Best wishes.

Gail.
